Friend?

Hey Ben here with a personal update on life.

We all have those best friends in our life. I like hanging with my group of friends on Saturday and kicking butt in video games while snacking on chips and soda. It all fun and games with the guys, and we always have a blast.

I also have some awesome friends that are girls, but all of them are hard to get, especially my best friend (I’ll call her by her nickname Twitch {long story})

Twitch isn’t like most girls I know. She willingly watches war movies, kick tail in DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), and she loves doing wheelies on her bike. Overall though, I love her faith in Christ. Twitch stands out among girls to me.

Every heard of that saying that guys and girls can’t be best friends, without it turning into something more? Well for a while I didn’t believe that, but now I do. And it’s so freaking irritating because no matter how much I try to tell myself ‘don’t go there’… I always end up doing the opposite.

You know what I’m going to say next. I really like Twitch. Not just like, but the ‘LIKE-like’. It’s driving me nuts too! I really can’t stop thinking about her. I make this list of things in my head about her and go over it again and again.

The other day I asked Twitch about courting (dating) between Christ followers. Her response: “Well, I know that a relationship should be God based; He should be the center of it all, if not then it’s a guaranteed fail. (she paused to think) Also a guy and a girl should form a friendship and get to know each other’s hearts so they have a firm foundation, kind of like with God. If you don’t have firm faith to stand on then you’ll stumble. Same goes a relationship; if you don’t have a firm friendship and understanding of each other the relationship will collapse into a heaping mess. (she laughed here) Why, is there a girl you’re interested in?

Of course I’m not going to tell Twitch that I like her, so I shrugged and said, “Just asking.” Then she went on and said she’d look up some verses for me in the bible. (I have yet to receive them)

I would really like to tell her that I like her but I’d hate to ruin our friendship. If I told her it would just be awkward, but I would also like to know if she likes me back. Dah, I need to think on this more. If any of my readers have any advice, let me know.

Peace,
~Ben
